An organ to be transplanted to a patient in Ankara has been transferred from the Central Anatolian province of Konya via a high-speed train for the first time.The pancreas of a victim was transferred to a patient at Ankara’s Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Hospital from Konya, around 260 kilometers away.
The family of the victim, who died in a traffic accident, donated the organ after he was declared brain dead by doctors.
His kidneys and lung were also transferred to the southern province of Antalya via highway.
