Opposition holds talks in the US
WASHINGTON - Anatolia News Agency
“Turkey and the U.S. seem to be having a ‘honeymoon’ in their relations that is indeed shallow,” Faruk Loğoğlu, deputy head of Republican People’s Party (CHP), told a press conference following a CHP delegation visit to Washington. He said if two countries hold contradictory attitudes on the Syria issue, then both countries will be puzzled on how to deal with it. Loğoğlu criticized the government for only supporting the Syrian opposition, externalizing the Syrian regime totally. The Justice and Development Party (AKP) is not successful in ruling Turkey, he said, adding that the CHP’s aim was not to complain to the U.S. about the AKP. “We came to learn how Americans regard the issues like the Arab Spring, Russia, Iran and human rights,” he said.
