Why don’t you arrest this abuser Mr Prosecutor?

“This incident is not like an accident or an earthquake. I will follow it until the last drop in my blood,” a heart-stricken mother has pledged. Her power comes from desperateness. Her only haven is justice; however, justice is silent. 

The two daughters of this woman living in Ankara’s Saray neighborhood have filed complaints in 2002 because they were subjected to their father’s sexual abuse. However the case was closed because of the lack of grounds for legal action. Later, the younger daughter said she lied because of the pressure she experienced from her older sister and her mother; as a matter of fact, her father never did anything to her. However, much more later, it was learned that the young girl had not lied; she was actually subjected to her father’s sexual abuse, but her father had threatened to kill her and her mother if she told her mother; upon which she had to take a step back. As a matter of fact, both girls were sexually abused by their father since they were six or seven. 

Both of these children, one in 2002, the other in 2012, attempted suicide. 

The mother learned about the abuse in 2017. In the meantime, the mother has noticed that the father was abusing other daughters of theirs apart from these two daughters. We are talking about a “father” who duck-tapes her daughters’ mouths so they do not scream while he is abusing them. 

Finally, the youngest daughter, who is now 14 years old, told her mother in tears what had been going on. She explained that her father wandered around naked in the house, masturbated and video called other women, using obscene language. 

Another day, the sister of the father got hold of the father’s phone and saw messages with sexual content about his own daughter exchanged with another woman. 

At the same time, this man sexually abuses woman claiming that he is a psychic. He is trying to trick them by saying, “If you have a relationship with me, you will be saved from the djinns.” 

Now, their mother is asking, “How correct is it for a man, who has exerted these dirty acts upon his daughters, to wander freely?” 

I can’t think of a more valid question than this. 

Interestingly, the prosecutor has been investigating for four months. While there are so many complaints, accusations and the witness testimonies of so many people, the case has not been opened yet. This man is still free. This guy who abused his own daughters, who tried to deceive other women using religious language, has not been arrested yet. 

As soon as his restraining order expired, he went home and threatened the mother of the girls saying, “If I go to jail, I will not go for this only. I will kill you and then go to jail.” He makes his threats openly, in public, tells his children the same at every opportunity. 

There is no effective preventive and protective mechanism in this matter. Necessary measures are not taken. This man is trying to tamper with evidences; doesn’t the prosecutor see this? 

He is threatening everyone. He is trying to fabricate fake evidences. He is trying to find false witnesses. He is calling and threatening genuine witnesses. He is threatening the mother to withdraw the case. 

The cell phone and computers records of the man have been at the prosecutor’s office for some time now, but they are yet to be sent for inspection.
