Opera Ballet Days in Mardin

The Ankara State Opera and Ballet will stage ‘Kanlı Nigar’ at the Mardin Opera Ballet Days that will continue until May 16 in the southeastern city.
The Mardin Opera and Ballet Days event, organized by the State Opera and Ballet General Directorate, has opened in the eastern province of Mardin. The Samsun State Opera and Ballet gave a “Symphonic Songs” concert in the opening ceremony.Chief conductor Kıvanç Tepe, soloists soprano Esra Arslantürk, alto Seçil Eyilikeder, tenor Dinçer Gökçe and bass Cüneyt Erdoğan were on the stage at the two-hour concert, where they performed the most popular and best known songs of Anatolia.
Mardin Governor Ömer Faruk Koçak said the people of Mardin had great interest in the event. “This week of art will also contribute to the promotion of the city,” he said.
State Opera and Ballet General Director Selman Ada said various events will be held in the city during the event.
He said they had a team of 300 people in the city of love, peace and solidarity, Mardin, and they would carry those events to an international platform in the coming years.
Speaking on people’s interest in the event, Ada said, “Mardin’s people have great interest in Opera and Ballet Days. Today there are 60 people on the stage.”
Within the scope of the Mardin Opera and Ballet Days, the İzmir State Opera and Ballet will perform the ballet show “Mevlana’nın Çağrısı” (The Call of Rumi) and the Ankara State Opera and Ballet will perform the musical comedy “Kanlı Nigar” (Bloody Nigar) and the ballet show “Harem” (Seraglio) for free.
The event will continue until May 16.
