One Turkish soldier killed in clash with PKK militants in Turkey’s southeast

One Turkish soldier was killed in a clash with outlawed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Mardin late on June 7, Doğan News Agency has reported. 

The clash occurred between Turkish soldiers and PKK militants in Mardin’s Dargeçit district, which is currently under curfew as part of an operation that started at 6:00 a.m., according to the Mardin Governor’s Office. 

The Governor’s Office stated that one soldier was killed in the clash and reinforcing units were sent to the area for the apprehended PKK militants.

Meanwhile, two soldiers were wounded due to the explosion of a hand-made bomb during a passage of a military vehicle in the eastern province of Tunceli on June 7.

Lightly injured soldiers were taken to the Tunceli State Hospital, according to the Tunceli Governor’s Office.   
One Turkish soldier was killed in a clash with PKK militants in the eastern province of Van on the same day, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The clash occurred in Van’s Başkale district during an operation against PKK militants. One soldier was injured and taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
