One killed as Russian businessman survives traffic accident in Istanbul

A private vehicle carrying a Russian businessman crashed into a metrobus in Istanbul’s Merter after the driver lost control of the vehicle early on Nov. 17.A luxury minibus, driven by Salih Doğan, was proceeding on the E-5 highway toward Topkapı after taking the unnamed businessman from Atatürk Airport. Doğan lost control before crashing through a barrier into an oncoming metrobus, causing the latter to also crash through into the oncoming lane of traffic.
Ten people were injured in the accident and taken to nearby hospitals. Doğan was recovered from the vehicle but succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The Russian businessman survived without any injury.
Doğan was not driving fast but failed to stop when another car cut in front of him, the businessman was quoted as saying by his interpreter.
