One fifth of Turkish cell users have smart phone

One out of five mobile users in Turkey has a smart phone, with the gadgets being most popular among youth, a Nielsen survey has shown.

Some 20 percent of Turks appear to prefer smart phones according to the Mobile Consumer report released by the Nielsen research company documenting the preferences of phone users in
several countries based on face-to-face interviews.

South Koreans topped the list of global smart phone usage at 67 percent of mobile users, while the Australians and British follow closely with 65 and 61 percent, respectively.

Some 25 percent of Turkish mobile users select their phones based on ease of use,
21 percent based on price and 19 percent based on the phone’s design.
