Ümit Boyner, the chair of Turkish Industry & Business Association (TÜSİAD), has accepted the offer to keep her position for one more year as recommended by the association, according to an official statement by the organization.

By doing so Boyner joins former presidents of the association such as Tuncay Özilhan, Ömer Sabancı and Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ who served more than one term.

TUSİAD presidents are normally elected to two-year terms.

The mouthpiece of the largest Turkish businesses will have its 42nd General Assembly on Jan. 12, 2012 in Istanbul in order to determine new board members who will also serve one year.
Boyner’s husband Cem Boyner, chairman of Boyner Holding, also led the association between 1989 and 1990.
