No luxury watches for footballers

The recently unveiled details of a probe into the officials of Gaziantepspor, a Turkish Super League football team, include fake invoices, money transfers to the bank accounts of officials and fraudulent purchase of luxurious watches, according to an expert report.Some 15 people, including İbrahim Kızıl, the president of the club, are under arrest within the scope of the probe.
According to documents seen by hurriyet.com.tr, the club money was transferred to Kızıl Holding’s accounts and hundreds of fake invoices were produced.
Fraud is also seen in contracts with footballers, as some luxury watches allegedly bought as premiums were in fact never distributed to players at all.
The report said the club lost more than 20 million Turkish Liras in the fraud. Some 12 million liras was transferred to Kızıl’s company, it added.
