New factory investment to create 300 jobs in Gebze

Turkey’s leading producer of steel pots and pans, Korkmaz, which exports to 57 different countries, is getting ready to open a new factory in Gebze in northern Turkey, with a $25 million investment.Korkmaz is Turkey’s number one metal kitchen products producer, with 1.5 million in sales for 2011, according to daily Milliyet. Korkmaz’s third factory will provide employment to 300 people.
Board member Kerim Korkmaz told journalists that the company hoped to achieve a turnover of 130 million Turkish Liras in 2012 and grow 32 percent, after achieving 34 percent growth in 2011 with a total turnover of 97 million liras.
Korkmaz entered the Turkish market in 1972 and produces 7,000 pots and pans and 1,500 tea kettles per day. It also produces 3,000 electrical home appliances daily, and overall produces approximately 200 different products. Korkmaz is household brand in countries like Poland, Germany and Croatia and also sold the ever first steel pan to Iran, according to the company.
