Music festival closes with Borusan Philharmonic

Violin virtuoso Maxim Vengerov is back at Istanbul Music Festival after a 12 year break, closing the 41st edition of the festival alongside the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Sascha Goetzel at the Hagia Irene Museum. Vengerov is at the prime of his career and is one of the world’s most successful violin virtuosos, while the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic is the resident orchestra of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV). The final concert of the festival will be held at 7 p.m. on June 29.

Pre-concert talks are held in English at the festival, featuring lively discussions with guest artists and prominent music writers. The pre-concert talk of the closing night will be held with Asuman Kafaoğlu Büke and Aydın Büke on “Thus Spoke Zarathustra.”
