Microsoft awards its Turkey branch

Microsoft Turkey has been picked again as “Country of the Year” among 112 countries where Microsoft has operations, the company has announced in a press statement.

This marks the third time Microsoft Turkey has won the competition in the last four years. “Microsoft Turkey is getting used to being a champion. It is really writing a success story with its 400 employees and more than 11,000 business partners,” said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer during the ceremony in Atlanta.

Balmer stated that Microsoft Turkey was able to respond to the informatics technology demands of the Turkish economy. High levels of satisfaction among clients and staffs, access to the small and medium sized enterprises, high-graded consultancy services in public and private sectors and the innovations in consumer market were the main reasons that Microsoft Turkey received this prize again, said Balmer.

“Our company’s reception of this prize for three times in the last four years shows that Turkey gained speed in informatics technologies,” said Tamer Özmen, general manager of Microsoft Turkey, during the ceremony. Özmen said the new cloud computing-based software programs, Windows Azure and Office 365, that entered the market this year played an important role in the company’s growth rate.

However, this prize enables Microsoft to spare more resources and make greater investment in Turkey.
