Dilan Alp, a 17-year-old girl who was severely wounded after being attacked by police on May Day in Istanbul, was discharged from hospital on May 11, daily Radikal reported.

The student’s mother, Gülsen Alp, said the girl’s improving health was a Mother’s Day present for her.
Gülsen Alp also criticized Istanbul Gov. Hüseyin Avni Mutlu for accusing her daughter of being a member of an illegal organization.

“As a mother, I would like to learn which illegal organization my daughter is a member of,” she said, adding that she would expect the governor to send his good wishes for Dilan’s health and to pay a visit to their home so that he could see their family.
