Main line-up of Berlin film festival launched

French-Spanish film ‘Farewell My Queen,’ starring Diane Kruger, will be the opening film of the 62nd Berlinale and will compete for the festival’s grand award.

Organizers of the 62nd Berlinale on Jan. 31 unveiled the complete line-up of the first major European film festival of the year with 23 productions screening in the main showcase.

Eighteen pictures will vie for the Golden Bear top prize at the event running Feb. 9 to 19, with a jury led by British director Mike Leigh selecting the winner. All the competition entries are world premieres.
