Long Thursday at Salt
A guided tour of the exhibition One, No One and One Hundred Thousand at SALT Galata will start at 7:00 p.m. (Turkish and English). Elio Montanari’s first major solo exhibition includes sequences of photographs that expose the concentration and passion of individual artists as they work, including well-known practitioners such as Marina Abramovic, Matthew Barney and James Lee Byars, among many others.
At SALT Ulus there will be guided tours of Modern Essays 5: Graft at 7:00 p.m. (Turkish) and at 7:30 p.m. (English), as well as a screening of the documentary film “Damocracy” (2012), directed by Todd Southgate, at 8:00 p.m. The film focuses on how two controversial dam projects, the Belo Monte in Brazil and Ilısu in Turkey and the impact on the Xingu and Dicle rivers, the local communities, cultures and wildlife that exist on them.
