Lions host top cup in wheelchair basketball

Three-time Champions Cup winner Galatasaray is the top European club in wheelchair basketball of recent years.

Galatasaray wheelchair basketball team will try to defend its title in the IWBF European Champions Cup, which will start today in Istanbul.

Galatasaray, which has won the top-level trophy in European wheelchair basketball three times in the last four years, opens the tournament against Capital Aces WBC from England at 1:30 p.m. RSC Rollis Zwickau of Germany and Lottomatica Elecom Sport Roma are also in Group A.

German RSV Lahn Dill, Spanish CD Fundosa Grupo, French Toulouse IC and Italy’s SSD Santa Lucia are in Group B.

The winner of both groups will meet in Sunday’s final at 12:15 p.m.

All games will be played at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul.
