Lindsay Lohan visits President Erdoğan, shares gracious Instagram post

ANKARA

Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan early on Jan. 28 shared an Instagram post from her visit to the residence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, which was also accompanied by seven-year-old Syrian Baba al-Abed, who came to international attention with her tweets giving a tragic account of the war in Aleppo.

“What a dream it is for Mr. President Erdogan and The First Lady to invite me to their home. Their efforts in helping Syrian Refugees is truly inspiring,” wrote Lohan for her 5,8 million Instagram followers.

Lohan has been appearing in Turkish media recently due to her frequent trips to the country, where she pays visits to Syrian refugee communities and tries to draw attention to the lives of millions of Syrians taking refuge here with her signature hashtags of #peace and #worldisbiggerthan5.

Al-Abed, meanwhile, is known for her active Twitter use despite her young age and her coverage of war in her hometown Aleppo in Syria. Recently moving Turkey with her family, the young girl had been hosted by Erdoğan in his presidential residence in Ankara.
