Lectern of Islamic theology opens in France

A lectern of Islamic theology has been opened in the French city of Strasbourg through the permission of the city hall and the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs.
 
The lectern in Strasbourg was opened through Turkey's efforts, under the supervision of Istanbul University Faculty of Theology, in order to train imams to serve in Europe.
 
Thirty imam candidates are set to receive theology education at the lectern opened in the Haute-Pierre neighborhood of Strasbourg. The lectern will provide education to students holding a high school diploma and who are above the age of 25. 
 
Education in Turkish
 
The education will be in Turkish and students who complete the program will receive their diplomas from the Istanbul University Faculty of Theology.
 
Currently, 236 imams authorized by the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs are operating in France, while nearly 2,000 such imams are providing services around Europe.
