Last call for Karakoç exhibition at Linart

An exhibition featuring around 20 works from internationally acclaimed Turkish painter Fevzi Karakoç will close at Gallery Linart on Nov. 12.

The exhibition, titled “The Bridge,” opened Oct. 20. Having attracted the keen interest of collectors and art lovers, the exhibition is the 33rd in the artist’s career.

Karakoç is renowned for the horse and horsemen figures he employs in his paintings. These figures appear as metaphors of Anatolian culture; however, because these figures also represent a wish to escape a state of stagnation, Karakoç’s paintings are open to various interpretations. His artistic expression is best acknowledged through an analysis of the way these figures are presented within the whole composition, rather than an individual reading of the metaphoric references of these figures.

Karakoç studied at the State Academy of Applied Fine Arts and worked at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts until 2002. He has been working at Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts since then.

Karakoç is the bearer of Salzburg City Honor Award (1979), the State Painting Sculpture Exhibition Award (1981), the Viking Paper Print Art Award (1983) and the State Painting Sculpture Exhibition (1983).

Gallery Linart is on Abdi İpekçi St. No. 24 in Şişli’s Nişantaşı neighborhood.

The gallery is closed on national holidays
