Kurds need to put a wall between them and PKK, says Turkish PM

Kurdish citizens need to build a barrier between themselves and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said today during a speech in the eastern province of Van.

Speaking at an event marking the first year anniversary of the devastating Van earthquake, the prime minister said the outlawed organization aimed only "to exploit."
 
"My Kurdish brothers need to put up a wall between themselves and the terror organization," Erdoğan said.
 
"We come here to serve, they come to burn," Erdoğan said.

"[The PKK] is only after using the children they tricked into going up to the mountains. Why won't investors come to the east? They're afraid terrorism would burn [their investments]. That's the cause behind unemployment [in the area]."

The prime minister was accompanied by his daughter Sümeyye Erdoğan during his visit to Van.
