The Kirkuk-Yumurtalık oil pipeline between Iraq and Turkey’s Mediterranean coast was hit by three separate explosions near the southeastern province of Şırnak’s İdil district today.

The cause of the explosions, which occurred at around 3 a.m., is still unknown. Separate fires ensued after the blasts.

Firefighters from Botaş, Turkey's state-run pipeline company, were dispatched to the location but could not approach the blazes due to the possibility of a new explosion

Oil flow in the pipeline was halted as the fires continued to burn. Some reports have claimed that the explosions were caused by sabotage.
