Kipling’s novel on Istanbul stage as dance project

Istanbul State Opera and Ballet will perform a modern dance show based on Rudyard Kipling’s well-known novel “The Jungle Book” on Dec. 20. The piece, titled “City-Jungle,” is Beyhan Murphy’s loose interpretation of the book reinterpreted for stage as a social responsibility project that is suitable for viewers of all ages. “City-Jungle” deals with the story of a teenager’s survival in a metropolis, as well as fundamental problems related to youth and environment from both an entertaining perspective and a thought-provoking one.
