Karnaval.com presenting social radio experience
ISTANBUL
Turkey’s largest online radio platform, Karnaval.com, and Jelli, a leading technology company based in San Mateo, California, have announced a multiyear exclusive partnership to bring Jelli’s unique “social radio” experience to Turkey.Using the Jelli service, listeners will be able to control the airwaves and completely determine the playlist of radio stations Metro FM, Super FM and Joy Turk themselves.
“The Jelli applications allow our listeners to use their mobile phone or computers and fully decide what song should play next on the terrestrial FM radio station,” Ali A. Abhary, CEO of Spectrum Medya and Karnaval.com, said. To participate, listeners simply visit www.karnaval.com or download the Jelli iPhone or Android apps, log in using Facebook and begin voting. Users can use Jelli to vote songs up or down. Jelli users will also be able to share songs on Twitter and Facebook, discuss what is playing with other listeners in a live chat, and use two unique Jelli “power-ups,” a Rocket and a Bomb, to further influence what will play next.
Listeners will be also able to influence whether a song stays on the air. Jelli will be available exclusively in Turkey via Karnaval.com on six different online radio stations: Jelli Türkçe Pop; Jelli Türkçe Rock; Jelli Rock; Jelli Dance; Jelli Base/HipHop; and Jelli Metro FM.
