Jordan’s King Abdullah to hold talks in Turkey

Jordan’s King Abdullah II arrives in Turkey tomorrow for a two-day official visit at the invitation of President Abdullah Gül.The Syrian conflict is likely to be the highlight of his talks here, as both countries are neighbors of the conflict-torn country. Talks in Ankara will focus on both political and economic issues as well as bilateral relations between the two countries and efforts to boost trade volume and investments. The Jordanian king will meet with representatives of Turkish business circles on March 6 and will also visit the production facilities of Turkish defense contractors. The King’s visit will “enable [us] to consolidate cooperation between Turkey and Jordan at a time of sensitive developments in the region,” a written statement from Turkey’s presidency said yesterday.
