Jehan Barbur to sing for Ankara
Lebanese-born Turkish artist Jehan Barbur is back in Istanbul tonight with a concert at Ankara’s Hayal Kahvesi. Barbur is coming off her third album, “Sarı” (Yellow), which she produced herself, while also writing most of the lyrics and music. In addition to her original tracks, the album features two covers, “Dalyan Deltası” by her mentor, veteran Turkish musician Bülent Ortaçgil, and Cahit Berkay’s “Kırık Bir Aşk Hikayesi.” Born in Beirut, Barbur is known as a singer-songwriter with a style all her own. She completed her studies in Turkey before embarking on her career as a singer. The concert starts at 10 pm.
