Japanese reporter's body to be sent home

The body of 45-year-old Japanese journalist Mika Yamamoto, who was killed in clashes in Syria on Aug. 20, will be sent to her home country today.

Yamamoto's body was brought into Istanbul yesterday after it was transported from Syria to the southeastern province of Gaziantep. 

Yamamoto's husband Kazutaka Sato and several Japanese journalists were on board the plane carrying the deceased reporter's body to Istanbul. Yamamoto's body will be taken to Japan later today.
