İzmir gears up to host 81st International Fair

The 81st İzmir International Fair (IEF) will be attended by 1,090 companies from 64 different countries, Sırrı Aydoğan İzmir’s deputy mayor said.

The fair is scheduled to be held between Aug. 31 and Sept. 9 with participants for 37 Turkish provinces attending.

“Various Latin American countries will join us as partner countries and the theme of this year’s fair is Imagination in all segments of life,” Aydoğan said at a press conference yesterday.

Fair organizers expect to host around 1.5 million visitors, he said.

The İzmir International Fair is the oldest trade show in Turkey with various products groups and is considered the cradle of Turkey’s fairs and expositions industry. It is also notable for hosting a series of simultaneous festival activities.

As a multi-product exhibition the fair has on display a wide range of products and services. The leading sectors at the fair reflect the fair’s theme and current industry trends. The last few years, the outstanding sectors at fair were Food products, Technology and Sub Industry, Automotive Sub Industry, Furniture, Decoration, Household, Appliances, White Goods, Construction Machinery, Agricultural Machinery and Electric, Electronic, Computer, IT and Telecommunication.
