A truck carrying cement rolled and tipped over on Istanbul’s TEM highway early July 4, turning the city’s morning commute into traffic chaos. The accident occurred at around 7 a.m. in the city’s Bağcılar district as two lanes were closed, causing a traffic jam that stretched across the European side of the metropolis. The cement which fell the road after the accident was removed after an hour while a TOMA (riot control vehicle) passing by also helped in the cleaning works. The traffic flow on the road returned to normal at around 9:30 a.m., but the delays have continued to affect traffic across the city.
