Istanbul to host Turkmens

The Turkish-Turkmen Business Forum is to be held March 1, co-organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodities Exchanges (TOBB).

The forum will take place in Istanbul’s Çırağan Palace, said DEİK, adding that Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan, Turkish President Abdullah Gül and his Turkmenistani counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, were among the high profile politicians who will participate in the forum.

Some 600 Turkish businessmen from numerous sectors including textiles and telecommunications will attend the forum, where they will have an opportunity to meet with the official of the government of Turkmenistan, DEİK said.

An exhibition of “Turkmenistan Export Products Introduction” will also be held side by side with the business forum. The total business volume created last year between the two countries amounted to $7 billion.
