Istanbul powerhouses drop points in Süper Lig

ISTANBUL

Turkish football giants Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe dropped points in match week 9 in Turkey's Spor Toto Süper Lig.

On Friday, Galatasaray and Bursaspor drew in a 1-1 match at home, which was enough for the Lions to stay on the top of the league with 19 points.

On Saturday, Fenerbahçe also drew Sivasspor 0-0 in an away match.

With this result, Fenerbahçe ranked 15th in the league with nine points, 10 points away from the leader.

On Sunday evening, Beşiktaş was defeated by Göoztepe 2-0 in an away match and placed fifth with 15 points.

The other two Istanbul clubs Basaksehir and Kasımpaşa followed the leader closely as they ranked second and third, with 18 points each.
