Istanbul Modern collection at Istanbul Airport
ISTANBUL
A selection from Istanbul Modern Museum’s collection will be on display at the Turkish Airlines (THY) Business Lounge.
According to a statement by the museum, THY and Istanbul Modern have collaborated to promote Turkish art to the world.
The exhibition, titled “A selection from Istanbul Modern Museum Collection,” covers an area of 130 square meters in a special section in the lounge and feature 38 works by 16 artists. The collection will be renewed three times a year.
Works on exhibit are by Şeref Akdik, Hakkı Anlı, Fethi Arda, Ferruh Başağa, Hasan Vecih Bereketoğlu, Aliye Berger, Nurullah Berk, Adnan Çoker, Nejad Melih Devrim, Abidin Dino, Neş’e Erdok, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Hoca Ali Rıza, Hikmet Onat, Selim Turan and Fahrelnissa Zeid.
“Thanks to the collaboration with the Istanbul Modern, we will bid farewell our guests with modern Turkish art before their travel to 124 countries,” said THY Chairman İlker Aycı.
Istanbul Modern Chairwoman Oya Eczacıbaşı said that the 10,000-square-meter lounge is an important venue for Turkey’s promotion.
“By renewing the selection three times a year, we will bring together works by artists of different periods with passengers. We invite those who want to see more to our museum.”
