Trips by Israeli touristic cruises to the western province of Antalya of Turkey have been canceled due to security concerns.

After Israel’s apology to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident, normalization of bilateral relations began. Within this process, the first cruises since the incident from Israel were set to come to the Alanya district of Antalya, but the trip was canceled because of security issues.

Officials informed

The deputy ambassador at the Israeli Embassy in Ankara, Yosef Levi Sfari, informed Alanya District Gov. Erhan Özdemir, Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu and police chief Erkan Dur about the cancellation. Sfari was told about security measures that would be taken if the cruises arrived. Özdemir said Israel had given the recent bombing in Reyhanlı in Hatay as the reason behind the cancellation.
