ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
The event presents, not as an extension of the works in the exhibition “La La La Human Steps,” but as personal interpretations of the concepts in the works of the exhibition.
For the exhibition “La La La Human Steps” İstanbul Modern is bringing together corporeal expression and visual arts on May 3, in collaboration with boDig, an Istanbul based arts initiative focusing mainly on the issues of the body in contemporary and digital culture. In a performance specially designed for the exhibition space, boDig will create moments of corporeal encounters between some of the installations in the exhibition and their own point of view.
Inspired by the concepts in “La La La Human Steps” the artists convey states of choice, adaptation, obligation, self-destruction and clinging to life in various times and spaces. The performance has no beginning or end.
It will be presented, not as an extension of the works in the exhibition “La La La Human Steps,” but as personal interpretations of the concepts in the works of the exhibition. The audience will encounter these special interpretations, which will not be performed again, at different points in the “La La La Human Steps” exhibition space on the ground floor of Istanbul Modern starting at 6:30 p.m.
BoDig’s artistic understanding has a multidisciplinary scope, bringing a variety of fields, like dance, performance, plastic arts, design, architecture, new media, engineering and medicine together in order to bring forth a reflection and artistic creation around the issues of the body in its contemporary and technological context.
