Industrial turnover up 4.9 percent

Industrial turnover in Turkey increased by 4.9 percent year-on-year in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said today.

Manufacturing industry turnover was up 5.1 percent, while mining and quarrying turnover fell 1 percent over the same period.

According to main industrial groupings, the highest increase in September compared to the same month last year was in durable consumer goods, TÜİK said.

In sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry, the highest increase in turnover was tobacco product manufacturing, with 63.8 percent.
