ISTANBUL - Anatolia News Agency
The Istanbul Stock Exchange’s (İMKB) benchmark 100 index became the second-highest-gaining platform in the world with a 9.2 percent rise in October. This was partly due to an early market pricing of a Fitch upgrade of Turkey on Nov. 5, which boosted the stock exchange’s climb to its historic high at 71.717 on Oct. 29. On a monthly basis, the bourse gained 29.4 points in October, still ranking second-best after Thailand’s bourse, which gained 33.3 points over the given period, according to World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) data compiled by Anatolia news agency. Egypt’s stock exchange followed Istanbul with a 28 percent rise year-on-year.
