IKSV reveals poster for film festival

The poster for the film festival features a photo by Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan has designed the new posters for the Istanbul Film Festival, which is being organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV).

The poster of the 32nd Istanbul Film Festival features a photograph shot by Ceylan, a leading director of contemporary “auteur” cinema that is also a screenwriter and photography artist.

İKSV is featuring a new collaboration for the posters of this year’s Istanbul festivals. Artwork and handwriting from leading artists from different fields are being brought together on the posters of 2013 Istanbul festivals by graphic designer and İKSV Corporate Identity Advisor Bülent Erkmen.

The poster of the 41st Istanbul Music Festival was designed collaboratively by the prominent contemporary artist Sarkis and Erkmen. The handwriting and fingerprint of Sarkis is transformed into a festival poster by Erkmen. Erkmen, said: “Cinema is what is seen by an open eye blinded in a sleepless night. Dreamy assurance of a blanket wrapped around our body and pulled over our head sunk in a pillow in the darkness of the night is reciprocated by the moment of sinking in our chair in the darkness.”
