Iced Earth to give first Istanbul concert

American heavy metal band, Iced Earth, will give a concert in Turkey for the first time tonight as they tour with their new album “Dystopia.”

Hailing from Florida, Iced Earth has a reputation for a flexible and changing line-up. Founding member, songwriter and rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer is the only remaining original member. Former vocalist Matt Barlow and former lead guitarist Randall Shawver are the next longest-tenured members. In 1999 Jon Schaffer teamed up with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch to form a side project called Demons & Wizards; they have released two albums to date. 

Combining influences from thrash metal, power metal, progressive metal, opera and speed metal, Iced Earth released the 10th studio album “Dystopia” in September 2011 following a world tour.
