I Musici meets fans at İşSanat stage

ISTANBUL

İş Sanat will welcome the oldest active chamber group, Rome’s I Musici, March 20.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, I Musici has spread knowledge of the eighteenth-century Italian musical repertoire, especially Vivaldi and his “Four Seasons,” of which their 1955 recording was the second ever made of Vivaldi’s masterpiece, and of which the group has sold more than 25 million copies in various editions, making it one of the most famous pieces in the musical repertoire. The group made the first classical music movie in the 1970’s, and recorded the first classical music CD for Philips. Consisting of 12 musicians playing without a conductor, I Musici constantly impresses audiences with their ability to achieve the full sonority of a string orchestra without sacrificing the clarity and the utter precision of a string quartet.

At İş Sanat, I Musici will accompany Giuliano Carmignola, one of the most important interpreters of modern and baroque violin. After establishing himself in national and international competitions, Carmignola began his career as a soloist under the conduction of Claudio Abbado, Eliahu Inbal, Peter Maag and Giuseppe Sinopoli, playing at the most important concert halls worldwide. Carmignola’s recording career has led him to collaborate with labels like Erato, Divox Antiqua, Sony and Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, with which he still has an exclusive contract. He has recently performed with the Mozart Orchestra, the Bremen Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Kammerorchester Basel and the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
