Husband shoots his Russian wife

A man from the Black Sea province of Trabzon shot his Russian wife dead Dec. 23 in the Mediterranean province of Antalya after he failed to convince her to withdraw from a divorce suit she filed.

Mustafa Sarı waited in the rain for the police to arrive on the scene after fatally shooting his wife, Viktoria Sarı, in front of a grocery store around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 23. Eyewitnesses in the area called for an ambulance, according to reports.

Viktoria Sarı died from a severe wound to her neck despite medics’ efforts to save her. While law enforcement officers took Mustafa Sarı under custody, Viktoria Sarı’s sister, Tanya, only identified by her first name, came to the area.

Mustafa Sarı drove to Antalya with two of his acquaintances to persuade his wife to withdraw her divorce suit. The couple and Mustafa Sarı’s two acquaintances had a long conversation sitting on a street bench in the neighborhood of Güzeloba before he shot her, reports said.
