Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan visits Turkey again
ISTANBUL
Lohan, who was seen with a headscarf in Istanbul’s İstinye Park mall, said to reporters she loved Turkey and that Turkey was her second home.
Lohan was also pictured reading the Quran in Brooklyn and she has made statements about considering converting to Islam.
The 29-year-old star told The Sun newspaper: “I’m a very spiritual person and I’m really open to learning.”
Lohan visited Syrian refugees in the Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul on Sept. 26, 2016, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
Lohan gave presents to Syrian children during her visit to a house and burst into tears after seeing the refugees’ situation.
The actress also took to social media to express her feelings about the visit before leaving the country.
The actress shared pictures of herself at a refugee camp in Turkey with the hashtag “the world is bigger than five,” a motto frequently used by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in reference to the U.N. Security Council’s number of permanent members.
Previously, Lohan visited a refugee camp in the Nizip district of the southeastern province of Gaziantep. Lohan met with Syrian refugees during her visit and shared a photo over Instagram of herself and an aid worker at the camp.
“I met a wonderful aid worker (Azize) at The Refugee Camp in Antep,” Lohan wrote on Oct. 8, 2016.
“She saw that my eyes lit up when I told her that her headscarf is beautiful. She waved to me and said, come with me, I followed her and she gifted it to me. I was so moved and touched by this that I wanted to wear it in appreciation for all of the generosity and love I received from everyone at the camp,” she said.
