Harry Potter stars to take stage in Istanbul

Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who played Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, are set to appear on stage in Istanbul in June, in the Speech Bubbles production of British horror comedy musical “The Rocky Horror Show.”Watson tweeted her fans on the April 1, saying: “I am really looking forward to being in the Rocky Horror Show. I love the songs and dances and getting back to the theatre is fantastic after being in the Harry Potter films. I am working really hard learning the dances and do a really great ‘Time Warp.’”
Grint is currently filming on location in Hawaii, but his agent April Phoul confirmed he would be appearing in the Rocky Horror Show as the mad scientist Dr. Von Scott and understudying Tom Godfrey as Frank ‘n Furter.
“Rupert is crazy about Rocky Horror and is really excited about going to Istanbul. When he heard Emma was doing it he contacted the Director Sharon Inci and begged her to let him play in the show,” said Phoul.
The Rocky Horror Show will be performed Muammer Karaca Theater on June 15 and 16. Tickets can be booked at www.speechbubbles.org and prices are 15 Turkish liras for teachers and students, and 20 liras for adults.
The Rocky Horror Show is a cult classic and considered by many as the greatest rock ‘n’ roll musical ever, with a spectacular array of singing and dancing.
Speech Bubbles is an Istanbul based drama group set up in 1992 with a mixture of professional and amateur actors, singers and musicians from the international and Turkish communities.
Each year, Speech Bubbles produces a musical aiming to support charities that support children and education. Everyone in the group is unpaid, donating their time, services and expertise to giving something back to underprivileged Turkish children.
