Government behind botched raid, opposition leader says

Turkey's main opposition leader has pinned the blame for a botched raid that killed 34 villagers in southeast Turkey last year on the government, private broadcaster NTV reported on its website.
 
"That order was given by the government," Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said about the raid in Şırnak’s Uludere district. "The Parliament gave authority to conduct cross-border operations to the government."
 
Kılıçdaroğlu also spoke on the Syria crisis, stating that "incorrect policies" would harm foreign relations.
 
"We don't want war. You have to consider the balances in the United Nations and the decisions made by the Security Council. Syria is not Libya. If you speak without paying attention to balances of power, they will turn you upside down. You can't succeed in the international arena with such incorrect policies," Kılıçdaroğlu said.
