Golden Boll to promote Turkish films to world

As part of the 19th Golden Boll Film Festival, organized by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality between Sept. 13 and 21, a number of new films will be promoted to international sales agencies.

In a written statement, Adana Mayor Zihni Aldırmaz said all new Turkish films would be promoted to the world in collaboration with the Turkish Film Producers’ Association, thanks to the “Adana Market” that will be organized during the festival.

“The Adana Market will be open to the invited sales agencies’ representatives, festival organizers and museums’ film curators only. The market will not only be limited to feature and fictional films. All projects including short films, documentaries and others will be able to participate,” Aldırmaz said.

One of the most important problems in Turkish cinema is promotion and marketing, and the Adana Market will attempt to challenge this deficiency, he said.
