Get a Jump on the Rest: U.S. Consulate General Istanbul Asks Travelers to Apply for U.S. Visas Early

ISTANBUL
Wait times for U.S. visas will grow significantly as the busy summer months approach.  Thousands of Turkish student and tourist applications for visas will require processing and can result in longer wait times.  To avoid the last-minute rush, the U.S. Consulate General Istanbul encourages all Turkish citizens planning to travel to the United States this summer to apply now for their nonimmigrant visas.

Tourist/business visitor (B1/B2) visa applicants are not required to provide proof of hotel reservations or flight arrangements.

Typically, we issue Turkish citizens ten-year, multiple entry B1/B2 visas to facilitate legitimate travel and promote business and tourism between our countries.  The vast majority of Turkish citizens qualify for U.S. visas, and the physical visas are issued in a few days.

All information about how to apply for your U.S. visa can be found at the U.S. Department of State’s web page at http://travel.state.gov and at Consulate General Istanbul’s web page at http://istanbul.usconsulategov/visas.html

Reminder: Consular Services in Ankara will be closed on March 5, and resume on March 20.
