Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport welcomes first flight from Russia

The Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport in the southern province of Antalya has welcomed its first flight arrival from Russia, amid the start of the summer season, the company said in a statement on April 21.The airport, operated by TAV Airports, celebrated its first arrival with a ceremony attended by Gazipaşa District Governor Nurullah Kaya, mayors of Gazipaşa; Alanya and Anamur, Pobeda General Manager Andrey Kalmykov, TAV Gazipaşa Coordinator Cengiz Aşıklı, local officials, representatives of NGOs and journalists, according to the statement.
The first scheduled flight carried passengers on the Pobeda Airlines from Moscow.
Arriving at the airport on a Boeing 737-800 NG, 188 passengers were welcomed with flowers.

Alanya is one of the leading attraction centers for Russian tourists with its natural beauties and cultural values. We are glad that Pobeda, which is amongst the fastest growing airlines in Russia, started to launch reciprocal flights between Gazipaşa and Moscow,” TAV Gazipaşa Chief Operations Officer Cengiz Aşıklı stated.

Pobeda started to launch reciprocal flights between Moscow’s Vnukova and Gazipaşa-Alanya as of April 21. The airlines will schedule reciprocal flights three times a week until November. Pobeda, a subsidiary of Aeroflot Group, has the youngest fleet in Russia. By 2018, the company has the goal to achieve a fleet of 30 aircrafts and 10 million passengers per year.
