A funeral ceremony will be organized Jan. 16 in Diyarbakır for three female members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) that were murdered last week in Paris, Doğan news agency has reported.

A crowd is expected to welcome the women’s remains when they arrive at the southeastern province’s airport on the same day. The bodies will subsequently be taken to Bayramoğlu Mosque.

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Provincial head Zübeyde Zümrüt said they would be issuing a call on residents to "halt life" in the city and attend the funeral ceremonies.

The bodies will be sent separately to each of the victims' hometowns after the ceremonies. Sakine Cansız, who was a founding member of the PKK, will be buried in Tunceli; Fidan Doğan will be taken to Elbistan in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş, while Leyla Söylemez will be buried in Diyarbakir.

The three were killed in an execution-style hit at a Kurdish center in Paris on Jan. 9. The identity of the killers remains unknown.
