Four engines drivers injured as trains collide in Turkey’s Sivas

A freight train and a shunting train collided in the Divriği district of the Central Anatolian province of Sivas on Oct. 17, injuring four engine drivers, Doğan News agency has reported.The freight train carrying iron ore collided with the shunting train while en route to the southern port of İskenderun.
The four wounded drivers were taken to the Divriği Sadık Özgür State Hospital after the crash.
Six wagons of the freight train were derailed in the crash.
Work to reopen the railway is reportedly under way.
Back on Jan. 18, one person died due the crash of a passenger train and a car at a grade crossing in the Ereğli district of Konya province. The driver of the car was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
