The former chief prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals, at the ceremony of the inauguration of the new chief prosecutor, advised his successor to pursue his duties without disturbing certain people.

“I wholeheartedly believe that during your duty as the chief prosecutor, you will work without making things harder for your country and nation, and will not disturb certain people,” Hasan Erbil, the former chief prosecutor, said during the vesting ceremony of his successor, Mehmet Akarca, on May 22.

Erbil was selected for the post in 2011 by former President Abdullah Gül, after receiving the highest number of votes.

Akarca was selected for the post by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan earlier this year.
