Ford Otosan executive Nuri Otay passes away

Ford Otosan General Manager Nuri Otay stands beside one of his company’s cars.

Ford Otosan’s general manager, Nuri Otay, died from a sudden heart attack on the evening of Feb. 6.

Otay had been with Ford Otosan since 1983, when he began working at the company as an engineer. He became the company’s general manager in March 2010.

Otay previously held several posts, including external purchasing manager and Istanbul factory manager. In 2000, Otay began heading Ford Otosan’s Kocaeli factory. In 2007 and 2008, he became director of Ford Europe’s Cologne production facilities. In 2009, he returned to Ford Otosan as assistant general manager before becoming general manager in 2010.

He is survived by a wife and son.

Meanwhile, Assistant General Manager Grant Belanger has been appointed interim General Manager.
