Floating city welcomed in İzmir and Istanbul

MSC Divina, the biggest vessel ever to come to Istanbul, was welcomed on June 6 by the Janissary Band in the Salıpazarı Cruise Ship Terminal in Istanbul’s Karaköy neighborhood. The 340-meter long and 139,400-gross ton ship was launched to the sea in Marseille, France 10 days ago by Europe’s largest cruise company, MSC Cruises.The Janissary Band played music as 4,200 passengers left the ship to visit the historical and cultural places in the city. Most of the passengers were from Italy and Germany along with 62 Turkish passengers.
In the evening hours, the ship left the Salıpazarı Cruise Ship Terminal and will continue on to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Venice and Bari in Italy; Katakolon, Greece and then to İzmir and Istanbul again.
After the passengers left the ship, a large group of people including members of the press and travel agency officials took a partial tour of the ship.
MSC Divina will travel to İzmir every Tuesday and Istanbul every Wednesday until November, MSC Cruises Turkey General Director Necla Tuncel said.
